A local bridal fair is a must on the to-do list for every new bride and I had the best time attending the San Antonio Bridal Extravaganza (SABE) with my “I DO” crew at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in January. I proudly wore my bride sticker and was ready to meet all of the vendors. FYI: if you are a future bride, be sure to register online before the show so that you can use the discount code “GSABE” and get in free.
Choosing wedding vendors can be a bit overwhelming since there are so many different options. I tried to do some research before attending the fair, that way I arrived with a game plan and had an idea of what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend arriving prepared, especially if you have something specific that you are looking for.
I was also prepared to have a little fun and just enjoy a day filled with free cake samples, photo booths and everything wedding. I was lucky enough to go with a great group and I was so happy to have my mother-in-law, Rosie, her sister Isabel and two of my San Antonio Bridesmaids, Emily and Alyssa. I also ran into Kayla, one of my very good friends and fellow bride-to-be.
I was in search of a DJ, a few bridal boutiques, and an event rental company and I was so happy with all of the options that were offered. By the end of the day, I had two dress appointments booked at Bella Bride Boutique and Liv & Love Bridal. I had narrowed down my DJ search and I also met with a few rental companies and was looking forward to scheduling a meeting at their showrooms. We also got to enjoy delicious samples from Heavenly Gourmet Catering, the caterer that we had already booked and are so excited to have cater our wedding. I’m sure we can all agree that the Mac N’ Cheese and cake samples were the best part.
Overall, I would definitely recommend a bridal fair day for all brides-to-be, even just for the fun of it. Grab your family and friends and head out for a fun day, all about the wedding (and free cake!)
